History

South Western Ontario Poetry was founded in 1980 as a vehicle for publishing chapbooks and other small books of poetry by writers living in and around South Western Ontario. After a lapse of some years it was re-established in 2003 and the format was changed to publishing full-length books. Portraits and Still Life, by Sheila Martindale, appeared in 2004. Since then we have published Drinking With Old Men, by Vic Elias (also 2004), The Life and Times of Transition Girl, by Sonia Halpern (2005). Trapped Moonlight, by David J. Paul (2005), and A Game of Jeopardy, by Vic Elias (2006).

Under the imprint of our subsidiary, Goldfinch Press, we have also published Dancing with Disease (2004), Indumathi Pudupakkam's memoir of her life with Multiple Sclerosis.
